Street Archaeology : Scrambled messages

Not wanting to be forgotten, history bleeds through the skin of our modern environment. Age fades the evidence, but traces remain of long-gone lives and previous purposes, from fifty, one hundred or two hundred years ago. 

These painted signs, that once shouted for attention, now whisper, distorted by decay and the veil of time's detritus.
